My Journey to Creating My First Coloring Book: Colorful Adventures Book 1 – Animals

Creating a coloring book has always been something I wanted to try, but I had no idea just how much work (and fun) it would be! After hours of learning, experimenting, and pushing through some frustrating moments, I’m excited to introduce Colorful Adventures Book 1: Animals—my very first children’s coloring book, now available on Amazon!

Why I Started This Project

As someone who loves creativity and exploring different ways to make money online, I decided to dive into Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing). I had already started publishing word search books, but I wanted to take it a step further by creating a high-quality, fun, and engaging coloring book for kids.

I knew that if I was going to do this, I wanted to make something unique and exciting—not just another generic coloring book. That’s how Colorful Adventures Book 1: Animals was born!

The Process of Creating My First Coloring Book

Step 1: Learning the Basics

I’ll be honest—this part took way longer than I expected. Coloring books aren’t as simple as just uploading some pictures to Amazon. There’s formatting, image quality, page layouts, and more to consider. I spent over 40 hours learning how to do everything the right way!

Step 2: Generating the Artwork with AI

To create the best possible images, I used ComfyUI with Stable Diffusion, an AI tool that helped me generate unique, high-resolution coloring pages. This was one of the hardest parts because not every AI-generated image is ready for a coloring book. I had to tweak and refine the images to make them kid-friendly and fun to color.

Step 3: Formatting in Canva & Book Bolt

Once I had the artwork ready, I used Canva to organize the pages and Book Bolt to ensure the book was formatted correctly for KDP. This step was crucial because Amazon has strict publishing guidelines, and I wanted to make sure everything looked perfect.

Step 4: Uploading to Amazon KDP

Finally, after double-checking everything (probably 10 times!), I uploaded the book to Amazon KDP. Seeing my coloring book go live on Amazon was an amazing feeling!

Where You Can Get It

What’s Next?

I’m not stopping here! My goal is to create a whole Colorful Adventures Coloring Book Series, covering different themes, animals, and more creative topics. Plus, I’m continuing my money-making challenge to see if selling coloring books is actually a profitable side hustle.

Stay tuned for more updates, and if you grab a copy, I’d love to hear your feedback! Let me know what you think in the comments or leave a review on Amazon.

Happy coloring! 🎨✨...
